Transport to a new level

Using public transport and moving around was, until 2020, considered normality and anything else was unthinkable. Through Corona, we found out the hard way that it is possible to change this way of thinking. We plan our trips more than we did in the past. Working from home a few days a week, using video calls and video meetings became a solution to keep business running during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

It is our goal to feed this evolution and to reduce the number of cars on the road. A well-functioning public transport, car-parking around the centre of town and well-maintained bicycle lanes will make place for more green places and reduce the space needed for cars in town-centres.

A more futuristic view about transport is that all roads, for cars and public transport, are underground. This will create more safety for pedestrians and cyclists who remain on the surface. It will also provide more space for parks and green boulevards and reduce the effects of the weather on public transport.

For long-distance traffic, we can take an example of the channel-shuttle or many Swiss railway connections. Vehicles move on a train, that train takes them over a long distance, where, upon arrival, the vehicles ride of the train. People remain in or around their vehicle during the trip on the train.

The ultimate dream is that non-polluting vehicles drive automatically and that the entire process of transport is automated. A driver would then not be responsible for the driving, but the owner of the vehicle is responsible for the persons or the loads that are being moved around.
