A border-free nation
One Europe, One Nation literally means no borders within our nation and thus one government.
It is also the evolution towards one identity: the European identity.
This is an evolution that will take time and demand a change in current politics. To give this evolution a chance, the political and geographical landscape will need to be changed.
The political change will mean that a local political party will be linked with a limited amount of European parties so that all parties in Europe will have the same official name.
The geographical change will be more complex. There is only one government which is the European parliament, the European ministers and one European president.
To avoid people from choosing their current local region as their new identity, current regions will be changed into new ones. If regions such as Catalonia, Flanders, North Italy, Corse remain unchanged, people will identify them by this region and not by the European identity.
The creation of new regions will be like taking a big town, its suburbs and half the land between that town and the next town.
For example, the town of Antwerp could stretch out from halfway Gent, halfway Brussels, halfway Aachen (Germany) and halfway Tilburg (The Netherlands).
Another example the town of Barcelona could stretch out from halfway Gerona, halfway Lleida and halfway Tarragona.
These towns are governed by the major’s council and one major and are aligned with the European Parliament and European government.
The responsibility of each town is to provide access for all their citizens to water, electricity, internet, public transport, and health care. They must maintain the local roads, railroads, and waterways as well as providing a connection by road, rail and waterway with neighbouring towns. Towns are in some way independent in how they implement these responsibilities, always in accordance with the European law.
The responsibility of the European government is that they create laws, take the decisions that concern the entire European nation and controlling the responsibilities of the towns. It is also their responsibility to create a Europe-wide network of railroads, highways, and waterways that unlock remote areas and make it possible to trade with all of Europe from anywhere in Europe.
