New Globalization
We live in a global economy and it is impossible to turn that back. Our economy is built on the economy of other nations and vice versa. The experience of corona teaches us the hard way that the current form of globalization, globalization 1.0, turns against us in times of jeopardy. Even without corona, globalization 1.0 was already a slumbering danger to our economic independence. Low-cost countries took jobs away, low-tax countries attracted headquarters, jobs and money and the European Union lost control of our basic needs and security. Resulting in a greater dependency on the goodwill of others. Not only is the European Union dependent, but the European Union becomes incapable to take leadership within its borders and towards other countries.
As the One Europe One Nation party, we take responsibility for Europe and the Europeans.
History and more precisely the history of economics and trade taught us that no economic power ever had an everlasting hold on power. Cities have risen and have faded away; nations have risen and have faded away. To avoid fading, we must rethink our way of trading and economics in general.
Globalization is a good thing if done in the right way. Globalization is a good thing if it creates welfare and employment all over the world.
Therefor we introduce a new form of globalization, globalization 2.0. This is about producing in the region of the world where the product is going to be sold, offering services in the region where the services are required. A company wants to sell a product or offer a service in Europe, that product must be produced in Europe or that service must be delivered from within Europe. If a European company wants to sell a product abroad or deliver a service abroad, they will have to make that product in that region of the world or deliver that service from within that region. The only exceptions to this rule are products, mainly agricultural, that cannot be cultivated or made in other regions and products that are made on such a small scale that it would not be possible to spread production, products that are very luxurious and only very few are made per year in an independent company.
Some of the advantages are that competition between companies will be fairer in all regions. Wages will comply with the wages within the region and the rules of a region will apply to the companies working there. Wealth will be more widespread than is currently the case.
Some jobs will move out of Europe, others will return or come to Europe, in any case, jobs will be more lasting in time and thus welfare will be more lasting in time.
Globalization, in our opinion, does not mean to make the masses poor and the happy few rich, it means working together for a better life for all.
